American Sports Center Expanding for Upcoming Season
American Sports Centers Summer 2011 Expansion & Remodeling PlansAmerican Sports Centers recently signed a long term lease on the entire building not only ensuring ASC's future in Anaheim, but also allowing for an expansion project to enhance the experience for guests. It is expected that work will begin in early July and be completed by the end of October.
ASC will increase in size from the current volleyball configuration of 22 courts to 34 courts.
However, the biggest part of the expansion effort will focus on a complete remodeling of the cafeteria in the rear of the building and the smoothie bar.
A 10,000 square foot food court featuring a grill, salad and fruit bar, pizza and sandwich station, and more of your favorites will replace the current cafeteria.
In addition, a seating pavilion will replace the current F row of courts.
The front smoothie bar will be upgraded to a 4,000 square foot delicatessen and pizza parlor which will remain open during the weekdays.
Within the court area, ASC will be installing large circulation fans above the courts and seating areas as well as installing additional exhaust fans. It is expected that the internal temperature of ASC can be lowered by as much as 15 degrees.
Outside ASC, the current practice of allowing pop-up tent encampments in the front parking area will be eliminated this fall after the last improvements are complete in the two new food areas. New seating in the two areas in combination with the new pavilion seating area will provide ample gathering space between games. Please be aware that no all day camping areas will be available inside ASC next volleyball season.
ASC's new surface parking area is also scheduled for completion this fall. This 800 plus space lot will replace the 500 space roof top parking. Access to the new parking will be on Claudina Ave., the same street used to access the roof top parking.
